Tom Snyder, seemed like one of the nicest men you could meet on camera. He was more apt to take a jab at himself than any of his guests. His show Tomorrow, which aired after Johnny's Tonight show, was as laid back of a show you could imagine. He tried different things....as is acceptable in his time slot. One historic night, he decided to introduce America to a new rock band he had taken a liking to. That band was U2. David Letterman was such a fan, he gave him the timeslot after him when he debuted on CBS.
Bill Walsh, brought a francise from the depths in the NFL, to the ultimate Zenith as the team of the 80's. He won 3 world championships with the San Francisco 49ers, and built the team that won the fourth. He had a very forgettable stint as Stanford head coach, but he'll always be remembered as the great architect, of a great dynasty.
Two visionaries, who will be sorely missed.
